ABCs

Happy Monday!  I love getting-to-know-you blog posts and thought I'd join in the fun with the ABCs that I've seen on other blogs lately to start the week.

A. Are you a PC or a Mac: Mac for everything but work.  I'm learning more about PCs lately, but am sometimes so lost!  Guess that goes with growing up with an iMac! ;)

B. Best current show on TV: Gossip Girl

D. Dessert?: Absolutely! ;)

E. Essential "start the day" item: Coffee with a splash of milk in my Lilly travel mug

F. Favorite color, month and beverage: Glitter, December, Champagne 

G. Go-to gift for others: Restaurant gift certificate

H. Height: 5'7.5" (I often say 5'8" which is a bit of a stretch.)

I. Interesting Fact About You:  My parents were very into lessons--I took everything from sewing lessons, hostess lessons, and violin lessons to Australian dance as a child.

J. Job: Almost done with grad school--working in research as well at the moment.

K. Kids:  Not for at least a few years.

L. Last Trip You Took:  New York for New Year's!

M. Musician: Jay-Z

N. Nickname: Lots of shortened versions of my name
O. Oprah or Ellen?: Lifelong Opie addict.

P. Pets: Sadly, being allergic to the world doesn't make this one easy.

S. Siblings: Two younger brothers.  Opposite as can be, but we all look identical.

New Year's Resolutions

I am big into resolutions.  Every year I spend quite some time reflecting upon the last year and making goals for the current year.  I usually then draw and color my new goals and post it somewhere to keep me honest. ;)  

Here are some of the goals I'm thinking will be on my list for 2011:

Read more for pleasure.  (My new Kindle from Santa will help with this one!)

Keep up with my nails.  I used to be absolutely obsessed, but have really been slacking on this one over the past year or so.

Send more friendly correspondence to all of my friends and family.

Cut down on sweets (but not caffeine this year--I am being realistic about that one. ;))

Holiday Travels

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas!  Time flew as I was only home for a few days (and sick for the latter half), but it was wonderful to see my family.

Today, after submitting my thesis proposal, I am off for New Year's Eve fun!  The bf and I have a wedding of one of his fraternity brothers in New York City.

Last Shopping Weekend

Before Christmas!  I hope everyone has all of their gifts ready.  This weekend I attempted to finish the last of my odds and ends and stocking stuffers.  I also had to check out the 20% off sale at Lilly.

I ended up with the Colby (adorable with a cardigan, but very easy to pass by on the hanger!):

With my birthday gift card and a return, I got them all for a song. ;)  Did anyone else check out the Lilly sale?  Hope no one has to brave the crazy mall this week!

Still Digging Out!

Monday was a snow day for many schools in the area.  Tuesday some were closed as well.  Having many meetings in schools for work means that I am now behind on tasks I hoped to finish before the holidays.  Wish me luck getting everything done, and stay warm if you've been hit by the crazy blizzards or cold snaps! :)
