Wedding Wednesday: Just Beginning!

After getting engaged, one of the first questions I got was how excited I was to blog about wedding details.  Of course my answer was, very very excited!  I can't wait to play along with so many of my friends who are also engaged for Wedding Wednesdays.  For more wedding ideas I've been storing, join me on pinterest!

This week and next SHS and I have appointments to look at a few venues and Saturday we're going to a bridal show.  I'm not sure how much we can do there without a date, but I think it'll be fun to get vendor information and maybe even enter a raffle or two.  The one thing we have decided on is where we hope to go for our honeymoon. . .

Paris!

I have always dreamed of spending time with my new husband-to-be in The City of Light and we can't wait to plan our trip.

Where did you go/are you going/do you want to go for your honeymoon?  Any Paris tips or other places we must visit?

Tuesday Daydreams

After spending my lunch catching up on one of my favorite blogs, Ooh La Frou Frou, I am in serious daydream land.  Add the Elie Saab show, and all I can seem to focus on is sparkles, pink roses, trips to Paris, and romantic date nights.  I would bet Mrs. Pink Champagne's mind is on fashion this afternoon as well. ;)

What are you daydreaming about today?

Oscar Recap

First, I want to say a huge Merci Beaucoup to everyone for all of the well wishes regarding my engagement!  SHS and I are over the moon happy and excited and I can't wait to share waaaaay too many wedding plans with all of you.  I also have a giveaway that will be posted later this week as a special thank you to all of you.  I can't tell you how much I have gotten out of blogging and want to do a little something in appreciation of your support and friendship.

Last night I was, of course, very excited to see all of the Red Carpet fashion before Billy Crystal opened the show. (Sidenote: I do think he's the best Oscars host and from the get go said this year's show was better than last year's.)  I can't wait to see everyone else's favorites and how my list of best dressed compares!

Jessica Chastain is one of my new favorite celebs.  She tops my list for best dressed.  The McQueen dress was gorgeous and ornate, but the strapless style and simple accessories didn't detract from her beauty.

In my mind, Penelope can do no wrong.  She always evokes the feeling of a classic movie star, this time in Armani Prive.

Octavia Spencer looked stunning in Tadashi Shoji.  Yay for her winning for The Help!

Milla Jovovich chose Elie Saab for her first Oscars, and the sparkles didn't let her down.  Love this look and her red lips.

I was secretly hoping Michelle Williams may have pulled off the win for My Week With Marilyn.  I am always excited to see what she is wearing, and the red Louis Vuitton she chose was perfect for her.  I love that she is always unique and true to her own style, and I love the bow.

I adore the color and beading of Kate Mara's dress--it'd be higher on my list without the netting on the one arm.

My college crush, Pharrell.  Well done, sir.  Well done.

Best Actor in a Leading Role was a category of total hotties. I was very happy Jean Dujardin won--I loved the movie and he was so cute and happy in his speech.

Who was your best dressed?  Any movies you were pulling for?

Big News!

So. . . I apologize.  You see, there is something I have been keeping from you.  And because of this it was so very difficult to concentrate on other blog posts.  I was attempting to call friends and family first, and finally this weekend, the news went public.

And the bf (SHS) is now the fiance!

After almost five lovely years of togetherness, on Thursday, February 2 I came home from shopping (at Lilly of course!) to find a gorgeous wrapped package on my dining room table.  Side story: the bf called me and asked what I was doing and if I wanted to go out or something after a work event I had.  He was out to happy hour with his brother so I said sure, of course, but I'm shopping now, so it might be a little bit.  I meandered through Lilly then went to TJ Maxx where there were oodles of Kate Spade finds before going home to get ready to go out.  Very typical Danielle fashion to keep SHS waiting. ;)  When SHS called for a second time to see where I was I figured I better hurry to meet him!

I was very happy to unwrap my gorgeous package (complete with a gold glitter bow) as what I thought was an early Valentine's gift.  When I saw a Kate Spade box I got very excited, and SHS asked if I knew what it was.  I said no and was elated to see these:

"How did you know I always wanted these?!"

At that point, SHS said, "I think we skipped a step," and walked over to get a smaller box, came over, got on one knee and I started crying.  Of course as soon as he asked me to marry him I said, "Yes, yes, YES!"

I was so excited and surprised and over the moon happy that I couldn't stop crying and saying, "Wow! We're getting MARRIED!"

We popped some champagne and I attempted to call my parents.  Of course, my dad was at the gym and I didn't want to give anything away so I attempted to be nonchalant with my mom on the phone.  She told me to call back in 20 minutes and I was anxiously awaiting the second that I could call back and have them both pick up a phone.  After finally talking to them both and calling my brothers, I called my bestie and SHS called his brother and sister.  Since his parents had been planning a trip to see us, we decided to tell them in person this weekend, so that's why all the secrecy. ;)

Can you tell how happy and surprised I am?! (My father commented, you look like you may have been a bit emotional. Ha!)

And yes, I did get a mani as soon as humanly possible on Friday.

I've been keeping this news in since February 2, so I can't wait to share so many of the ideas that I've been obsessing over thinking about in a casual way over the past couple weeks.  This weekend SHS's parents were in town and we told them in person so now the time is on to really start planning!

Spring Dress Dreaming

Although this winter has been so bizarre and warm, I am still looking forward to many spring things, especially dress shopping for fun events this spring and summer.  My bestie, S. and I were sharing dresses yesterday and it has me yearning for fun events to buy a few new ones, but only after I clean out a few older ones I haven't worn yet or in a verrrrrrrry long time.

This darker floral dress pairs perfectly with tights now and bare legs and nude pumps later.
Give me a dress with a full skirt and little Eiffel Towers and I am definitely sold.
I choose wrap dresses often for work and play.  This printed Kate Spade would be perfect for a spring bridal shower.
Another fun full-skirted option, this time in a gorgeous floral. (And yes, everytime I think of florals for spring, I think of this.)

This cartography dress is a little Ms. Frizzle, but the print is just too fun!

Navy polka dots with a fun belt.

And of course I can't have a list without a Lilly.
Or two.

And this polka dot coral number even has a racer back.

Which dresses are you crushing on?

Lilly Pulitzer Cruiser Take 3

I just knew I was waiting for something, and that something is for the print to be a lovely pink and green on the Lilly cruiser for 2012!  As much as I've loved the other prints, this one is a bit more up my alley. ;)

Now I'm not sure I have any excuses left why I shouldn't own this beauty.

Fave Super Bowl Commercial

In true non-sportsy fashion, the main draw of spending a Sunday night watching football is definitely fun gameday food as well as Super Bowl commercials.  Last year my favorite was this one.

And this year's follow up may be even better.

I may have to follow the dog's lead now after the many treats we had last night including the best buffalo dip, yummy chili, and some decidedly non-footbally macarons.  Did you watch the game?  What did you think of Madonna and were there any commercials you loved?

Relaxing Weekend Away

The bf and I are off for a mini winter weekend away.

Hope your weekend is just as fun and good luck if you have your eyes on any of the Jason Wu at Target that opens tomorrow.

Friday's Fancies Spring Fever!

There isn't much that screams spring and summer to me more than fresh flowers and a Lilly dress.  Although I am in the Lilly year-round club, most of my favorite favorite pieces are the warm weather dresses and adorable skirts, and the spring florals have me dreaming of daffodils and cherry blossoms.  Join the Friday's Fancies fun with {av} and see what everyone else is itching to pull on as the buds start appearing.

1. The Bottega Veneta knot clutches are absolutely gorgeous, classic pieces and this hot pink would match almost all of my Lilly.
2. Metallic Fendi peep toes with a fun bow
3. The Lottie dress in Bright Navy Cherry Mine Engineered may be coming home with me soon.  I love it with the fit to be tied belt.
4. This glorious pink is perfect for a spring brunch or night out with the gals.
5. Bobbi Brown has perfected the hot pink pout.
6. And of course you can't forget a few spritzes of a fun and flirty scent!

What are you excited to wear?
