Weekend Fun

My weekend consisted of a fun Friday night with friends and cards.

A wonderful diner breakfast of challah french toast and, of course, diner coffee.

Making one million chocolate covered pretzels and marshmallows.  (I think you may be able to tell which ones the bf "helped" with.)

And a wonderful ice storm which turned to snow last night.  This morning it is really sunny, and the ice does look gorgeous.

I can't believe I didn't get it together enough to do Pink & Green Thursday yesterday, but this week suddenly flew by after Tuesday.  I am looking forward to catching up on lots of your blogs this weekend.  I am also looking forward to: 

Continuing my use of my new City of Angels perfume--I am now officially obsessed with this from Anthropologie.  I got the last bottle in my store, but you can find it here.  The box alone is gorgeous, and the scent divine.

Wearing lots of lace and pastels.  I have officially been on the hunt for more blush pink, and lace is always a plus.  (Picture from TJ Maxx yesterday.)

Blush Pink

I have always adored pink.  There are many family stories about my fondness for the color--from when I refused to wear anything that wasn't pink or purple in preschool and kindergarten (okay, this may have lasted a bit longer, but the tantrums stopped by age 6), to the 50's bubblegum pink prom dress I very politely demanded to wear as the narrator for the second grade play, to the overwhelming amount of pink in my closet now.  I often grab brighter pinks, but lately have been loving tones of blush and very light pinks.

First, slip into your dressing gown as we think about what to wear.

Oh Rhett!

InStyle made a list of the 25 Most Iconic Movie Kisses.  Of course Rhett and Scarlett made the list.  InStyle notes, "'You need kissing badly,' Clark Gable, as Rhett Butler, told Vivien Leigh's Scarlett O'Hara in this 1939 epic. 'You should be kissed, and often. And by someone who knows how.' Later on, while proposing to the twice-widowed Scarlett, he proves he's the man for the job."  How did I leave out this couple from my famous couples post?!  (I do have a Gone With the Wind  poster up in my room, and one of my favorite birthdays was to see this flick in an old movie theatre with friends.)

Valentine's Dessert

This year the bf and I are not having our annual Valentine's Day party.  This is our fifth V-Day together, and the last three have included a big, pink, red, glittery, rose-filled party.  Sadly, tonight I have to go to an event for my thesis, and with all of the work I've been trying to get done, I just am not prepared to host tomorrow night.  Fortunately, the bf and I are spending Saturday night together.  He's cooking, and I'm doing dessert.

Chocolate dipped pretzels (and making extra to bring into work on Monday!)
