Wedding Wednesday: Bachelorette Advice Needed

I am beyond excited to be going to New York City in just over a month and a half for my bachelorette party.  We're staying in a hotel on the Upper East Side, and our themed night is glitter and sequins!  I have ordered a few dresses already and can't wait for them to arrive and hope one of them works out beautifully.

So here's where you come in.  I need a little advice to pass along to my maid of honor and bridesmaids, and since so many of you (JGIWC, Blair's Head Band, Life Through Preppy Glasses, MCW) live/d in the wonderful city, or have been often, I wanted to get some insider tips.

Are there any New York stops we can't miss?  Shopping?  Dinner?  Going out?

Hair Conundrum

I have had a pretty similar long-ish layered haircut for at least the past seven years except for the incident where I had more than a couple inches chopped in a "trim" or the brief stint with blunt bangs.  Lately this has me itching to try something new.

And then last night I watched this week's episode of RHONJ, and I was further determined I need to mix it up in my hair department when I saw Jacqueline using a clipless curling iron.  For background, my hair is naturally curly, but a use a traditional 1 to 1.5" curling iron most weekdays.

I've heard great things about the sultra bombshell, but am not sure I can get the hang of it, and that the results are much better than my trusty ol' Revlon.  Have you used a clipless curling iron?  I need some new hair tricks.  What about hot rollers?  Is it a bad idea or a very very bad idea to dye my hair for the first time ever a few weeks before engagement pictures?

Old School Gossip Girl

This weekend I found the Style Network shows old Gossip Girl reruns on the weekend.  Of course, B and S looked stunning as usual, and I fell in love all over again with the show. 

(This may be my weekend hair inspiration for my bachelorette party in October.)

Friday Faves

Happy happy Friday! Here are some of my recent faves.

Love this new dress I bought last night at Target.  I went full on autumnal today with leopard flats.

SHS and I have been golfing almost every weekend for the past couple months.  I was very pleasantly surprised how relaxing and fun it is, especially as we usually do brunch after. 

I just saw It's Complicated for the first time, and I loved it!  I am now on the hunt for pastry classes so I can perfect my own croissants.

SHS bought me these gorgeous oyster earrings in New Orleans last week and I have worn them almost daily since.

This weekend is also the Feast of the Assumption in Little Italy and I can already taste the cannoli.

Wedding Wednesday: Bridesmaids Edition

I have had the absolute best experiences with my local Bella Bridesmaid trying to choose a bridesmaid dress that works on my four besties.  I fell in love love with Lula Kate, and after almost choosing the Sassy Stripes. . . 

I saw this picture on pinterest.  (Plus, her ring looks crazy like mine for extra points!)

And after searching, these.  And I fell head over heels in loveeeeee.

All of the girls are wearing different tops with fuller skirts, and I am now on the hunt for pretty, grass-walking-possible hot pink shoes.  Any ideas?

The Duchess of Cambridge's Olympic Style

I had so many blog topics planned for this summer, but after going a week, then two weeks, then a month without blogging, I realized I needed to focus on a few things before returning to the blogging world.  I am so excited to be back and catch up with all of you now!

Last night I had a great time watching the closing ceremony, but now I may have Olympic withdrawals after such a fun two weeks!  I miss Gabby and the Fab Five as well as some very cute swimmers,  but will console myself with planning how to emulate the Duchess of Cambridge's Olympic looks for the last few weeks of summer into this fall.
