Flea Market Finds

I found tons of amazing items at the flea market two weekends ago, and hope I am able to go to more flea markets in the future.  Wouldn't you just scream if you went to a great flea market and saw the very talented Eddie Ross?! (I am hoping maybe next year I can go to Brimfield.) 

This blanket reminded me of Tommy Hilfiger's new ads and 1950s football games:

This armoire came home with me and I am lining it with Lilly wrapping paper from Preppy Princess:

I also was fortunate to snag a few vintage jewels and some old pictures/photos that I hope to have reframed.  I am so excited to get my new chandelier hung in my entryway next week!

Sarah's Farmhouse Kitchen

I am my mother's daughter and do love my HGTV.  Especially when I'm home alone relaxing.  Last night I was home catching up on lots of shows on the DVR after Gossip Girl.  Sarah's House is one of my favorite shows and I was excited to watch a few episode that I taped of the current season.  I just love what Sarah can do to a home.   

Sarah buys a home and makes it over room-by-room with each episode being a different room.  I love her taste and she goes to flea markets and estate sales often for perfect vintage pieces.

The farmhouse she is in the process of making over on season 3 is amazing.

I would adore having a bright and sunny kitchen like this!

Busy Bee!

I feel like I've been as busy as a bee lately!

I'm always so excited for the weekend, but this weekend seemed to be just as busy as my week!  Hope everyone is having a happily busy and productive Monday. :)

Flea Market Weekend!

This weekend I am off to a small town (I think) in Ohio for a flea market.  The bf and I are meeting up with his mom (a flea market connoisseur) and his brother and SIL.  

I have a few things on my list of lusts, including a trunk to put at the base of my bed to hold linens

Fall Loves

The event at Lilly Friday night was absolutely lovely and included a discussion about fall must-haves and wardrobe essentials.

My personal fall essentials are:

Animal print accessories.

Love these Tory Burch wedges.

Plenty of warm sweaters and jackets.

This Lilly jacket is even more amazing on!

A fun and versatile dress.

The Jonah really is amazing, and even better in this conservative-for-work print!  (I couldn't find a picture of the dress in Crane Pose, but it's the brown print.)

Today's the Day

Ahhhhhhh--I am not sure I can wait all day and through my evening class and a group meeting to see the season premiere! 

But the real question is: what happens in Paris?  And what happens with B and Chuck?

Don's Newish Interest?

I love the character they have playing one of Don's love interests this season, Bethany.

 Anna Camp, the actress who plays Bethany, is gorgeous!  I think Bethany could have a positive influence on Don, but I may just be partial to seeing more of Anna Camp!

You also have to yearn for her hair and dresses!

Fashion's Night Out!

Tomorrow is Fashion's Night Out in NYC.  Although I am not going this year (but fingers crossed I'll be able to go in the future), my local Lilly store is getting in on the action!

I am so excited to be able to go with a new friend that recently moved to Ohio.  There will be three "speakers" on Fall trends and this is included on the invite:

Our Holiday Trunk Show will also be on-going on Friday and Saturday (9/11). Preview Samples from Holiday Line, and pre-order your dresses, so you will be the best dressed at all your Holiday events!!

Honor Flight Chicago

Today we got wonderful news!  The bf's sister received news that their grandfather has made it to the top of the wait list for Honor Flight Chicago.  (On a side note, the bf's sister served in the Navy and continues to serve in the Reserves while her husband served as a Marine.)  

Honor Flight Chicago works to give WWII veterans a chance to go to Washington, D.C. to visit the WWII Memorial on a flight with other veterans.  The vets receive a heroes welcome both in Chicago where they fly out of Midway and when they land at Dulles.  The bf's grandfather was a fighter pilot in the war and we are fortunate to have both recorded accounts of his service from a history project as well as a written record.

This video shows how wonderful the organization's work is, but make sure you have tissues handy while you watch it!

This is such a worthy organization and I am so glad to have found it through such fabulous news!

One more

Of course I woke up to many shopping e-mails and instead of deleting them, I decided to peruse J. Crew's new arrivals.  I need to rebuild my sweater collection after an unfortunate incident, but of course this

is what caught my eye!  (Another post to come soon with drool-worthy fall loves.)
