Help Needed! Bachelorette Party Dresses

One of my sorority sisters is getting married this May.  This means the bachelorette party is coming up soon.  Soon soon soon, as in the first weekend of February in Miami.  So here's where the help comes in.  We have planned different things to do over the long weekend--and every night ends with us at a different nightclub.  I am absolutely clueless when it comes to what to wear to a Miami nightclub.

A pretty legendary college story is the first fraternity party I attended.  It was a chilly night in September and I put on my cutest cashmere sweater, a pair of Abercrombie jeans (yes, this was awhile ago), a pair of embarrassing shoes probably clogs or something equally cringe-worthy, and maybe a pair of drop earrings for the fun occasion.  Of course this is absolutely, positively, not what one normally wears to a fraternity party.  I was so hot the entire night and kept being terrified someone would spill their solo cup of beer down my favorite sweater.

I am sure that whatever I find, I will probably still be on the more conservative side of nightclub dress, and that's just fine with me.  My main goal is to look like I was planning on going to a club that night and wasn't kidnapped on my way to a PTA meeting.

So what are some ideas of stores I should try?  Do you have any dresses/skirts that always work in situations like these?

  1. Short and tight :)

    Try French Connection.

  2. Eeek. Miami is tough for me but only because I felt like my clothes didn't fit in there at all.
Think black, tight, short or bright and sparkly. Basically, anything trendy and tight goes. Oh..and heels are a must.
I would say try a place like F21, Charlotte Russe, clothing stores notorious for going out wear.
Good luck and have a blast!

  3. I feel ya. I don't dress for clubs...ever. So when I go, something new is necessary. I'd go with F21. I've never failed on finding a short (kindaskankybutstillclassy) dress there. Think Kim Kardashian. Ready set go!

  4. Miami is weird, I'll put it that way. I'd do anything trendy right now. Sequin minis + t, etc.

    Think Forever 21.

However, you can find cute stuff and jazz it up. Just because you're going to nightclubs doesn't mean you have to look like a go-go dancer!

  5. I found myself in the same dilemma for my BFF's bachelorette in NYC last summer... my now "adult wardrobe" doesn't exactly lend itself to the club scene. I know you will find a fabulous dress (F21 is perfect for an inexpensive trendy frock for a one time wear) and have a blast with your girlfriends!

  6. I think for Miami a big flowy, printed blouse and either a tight skirt (or skinny jeans for us who don't want to show our hiney) and a super tall pair of heels is pretty standard!

  8. Thank you so much for the follow today- on the blog and twitter (I requested to follow you too!) I like MCW's suggestion ;) Forever 21 will be a winner, I think!

I've been following your blog for a while and have loved it, even though I don't comment as often as I would like. So happy to have 'met' you today, lady!! XoXo

  9. I agree and would suggest some fun, flirty dresses from F21. You could also go with dark skinny jeans and any of the ruffly, silk J. Crew tops with heels and fun earrings. Good luck!
